On several levels, the fanbase has grown, added more varied types of fans to it, yet also grown more immature. BattleBoards are about the most childish thing ever, people still whine about every little change (or even RUMOURED change) and internet-behavior as a whole has downgraded in maturity, to the point where some people say "FAGGOT" the way old telegrams said "STOP".
So there ARE more mature fans out there, and ones who are less-obsessive, they're just hard to find because people IN GENERAL seem to be donwgrading in maturity.

I don't follow.
Comics are written by adults. Why can't people of maturity appreciate them? All a comic consists of really, is creative writing with some good ass art thrown in. Now I only follow one or two characters closely, so I can't claim to be the comic savant that other people are. But if you're saying that people who read comics are stuck in their ways, I disagree.

didn't know Dane had his own comic book.  anyways, I disagree. comic book fans are very, very resistant to change. Probably helps them maintain their status as man-children whom kinda hit a wall in emotional/mental development at about at 14. I'd say the people on this site are a lot better of then some other sites in this regard. I'm lucky in that I didn't get into comics until I was a bit older so I kinda had an easy time getting over it all, y'know. |

I find the ridiculous and immature aspects of comicbook geekdom the most enjoyable. I ranted to my buddy for twenty minutes about Blake's real first name being Robin and I enjoyed it.

I don't get into it much, except with the peculiarities of you fucks, but it's definitely a fine outlet when no others will do, like I imagine regular sex with a woman would be.

No, sentence structure cannot be irrational. I was really just trying to describe it as senseless which can be used as a synonym of irrational in some cases. Most of the time I don't go out of my way to write anything in great detail either. But I was in such disagreement with what you said, and how you said it, that I just lumped everything together. |
