http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJqXPozfnWQ&feature=relmfuAbout the man himself and his illusive carreer, his work on Spiderman, Dr Strange, The Question, Mr A (never heard about this one, art looks fucking great), Hawk & Dove, The Creeper Includes cameos from Mark Millar, Alan Moore, Joe Quesada, Neil Gaiman, John Romita, Stan Lee, and others Really great stuff. One of the greatest things revealed is that Alan Moore practically based Rorschach on Ditko himself and his Mr A rather than The Question. Also a pretty critical interview with Stan Lee, or more so than usual in these type of documentaries.

Yeah, very interesting stuff. I liked getting the word from all the other guys, and Stan was actually quite nice and honest about it- he says that Spidey was HIS IDEA, but wouldn't have been the same without Ditko. I mean, it's about the exact context of "created" in his own mind- he says he told Steve about the character, and Steve made the costume and stuff. Granted, people have differing ideas of who's idea it WAS, but who knows who's right?
I liked Alan Moore's quote of Ditko saying "Oh, Rorschach. He's like Mr. A- Only crazy", then laughing. And Neil Gaiman basically saying the whole Osborn/Goblin thing was absolutely the right move dramatically and for the story.

Jonathan Ross and Neil Gaiman acting like little teenage groupies after they met Ditko was fucking fabulous.

I am now. I'm at the Creeper bit now. I loved how Alan Moore introduced himself as a wizard. Silly man. Plus he looked menacing when he talked about the white / black calling card.

To be fair, it's not that silly if you consider his belief that in ancient times wizard <=> artists/storytellers. So in a sense, yeah he is a wizard. Plus he also does magic shit, like summoning his God and stuff.

Ditko is brilliant, one of the bets artists and comics history, even if his epistemology is transparently laughable, his ideals and integrity are truly noble.

Great video, thanks for finding it. Have any of you guys read Dark Dominion? It was a brief series put out by Jim Shooter and Ditko under Defiant Comics. I remember it having amazing art. Jonathan Ross and Neil Gaiman acting like little teenage groupies after they met Ditko was fucking fabulous.
I agree. That part was really cool.
