The serious online fanatics are no fun because they just time their games out into a formula. They have a pre-established "quickest" build order. They build just enough to send over to the enemy base and cripple it before any self-respecting player would even have a legit defense built. Rather than kill a half hour setting shit up and having a back-and-forth battle, the fanatics play a "let's see who can 100% win in the first 5 minutes". Takes all of the fun out of setting up a base and going through the tech tree. Anyway, that's sad as shit if C&C4 sucked worse than Red Alert 3. Red Alert 3 was already a step down from its predecessors in gameplay (even if the story was awesome as ever). |

I basically turned the game off once I found that out, so I can't tell you anything more.
But those online fanatics you speak of, I know well. Most of my experience with them isn't from Starcraft, but rather Warcraft 3. I'm certain this game would be no different though.
The only online I'd play is with a buddy against computer controlled enemies.

Funny. I got the game, played a skirmish with each side, and thought the same thing. Except I didn't play it a lot back then, either. It is basically updated graphics, new story, but same everything else. Per usual it will be better once an expansion comes out and adds new units and things. But it feels lacking as of right now. I expected a lot more I guess. Like maybe something similar to the hero system Warcraft 3 had. |

Pretty sure they're going to be expansions with new units and what not. But then,it still kinda sucks considering all the units in the campain that weren't allowed in online play. Not much point making new units if they are campaign only.

Love the campaign and the game in general, but I'm ticked off by some things:
1. Half the tech/units featured in the single player campaign don't even make it into multi. wtf?
2. Protoss voice-acting & scripting sucks horse balls. Zeratul specifically sounds like a melodramatic semi-shakespearian fag.
3.[geek]Why are they fucking with the lore again (they did it back in WC3 too)? The Zerg weren't specifically created to kill the Protoss, and Overmind wasn't born without free will. It's the total fucking opposite from the background the first games' manual provides: The Xel'Naga created the Zerg to try again, as they deemed the Protoss to be failures, and started zigging where they previously zagged (tech/sophistication vs primordial/beastial). Overmind was granted sentience/free will and then the motherfucker decided to kill off the Xel'Naga because it was a fucking psycho. As the Zerg wiped off the Xel'Naga they learned about the Protoss and decided to go and kill/assimilate them too. Kerrigan was supposed to be the perfect Zerg warrior, not some stupid Zerg messiah with free-will supposed to defeat the Xel'Naga. The Zerg campaign from the expansion is specifically about Kerrigan trying to stop a new Overmind from being born because then she would lose her fucking free will as she was a thrall under him.[/geek]
