Looks like WB is getting a little too excited here. Calm down fella. First you want to "do a child together" with Jonathanos, now you're talking about ejaculation storm; it's getting scary.

Spoilers are accurate - confirmed by zvelf on Alvaro's, who is 100 percent reliable. He also confirmed it's not a dream sequence or anything along those lines. Fight is over in a brutal 2 pages.
So is it that he beat up Thor with him still holding his hammer, or did he overpower the enchantment and go to town on with it?

From all of the descriptions so far Thor was still holding the hammer. It's kind of like when you grab your little brother's fist and make him punch himself in the face.

Don't think it has hit yet. Zvelf usually posts spoilers a good few hours before scans hit the net, so expect it sometime this evening I guess. So is it that he beat up Thor with him still holding his hammer, or did he overpower the enchantment and go to town on with it?
Sounds like he basically grabs Thor's arms and does a "stop hitting yourself" routine. In fact, it actually sounds like a scene that even Vangrab will have to agree shows Hulk as stronger than Thor. Maybe. Cheers.

I can't wait for the Thor fanboys to start crying out in disgust, saying they are never buying another Marvel comic again, etc. over this.

The first "never buying Marvel again" has already been posted, before the scans even hit. And that's just on the Battle Board.... god only knows what the Thor board will look like. For anyone remotely interested, a certain MjolnirsPower still posts over on Alvaro's... his reaction should be spectacle-worthy. Cheers.

It has already begun with thoughts on writing to Disney about Marvel treating Thor like this.

ROFL as expected at Alvaro's, the drama queens are in full effect: I can no longer give this company my money. I can read the marvels at the shop for free and buy DC. KISS MY ASS, MARVEL!!! They are already attempting to get a team of thor bags together to write Disney to complain about how Thor was treated, LOL!

I'm actually kind of bummed out from the description. I knew there wouldn't be much time devoted to it because the book isn't Hulk vs. Thor, but it sounds as if Hulk just completely curbstomps Thor... and I don't like that.
Still, maybe I'll change my mind when I see it for myself. Hopefully it's a case where the battle is longer than it sounds and we join it already in progress or something.

No idea. That's the only scan that's been posted so far. If there was significant context to it though I imagine zvelf would have mentioned it. He's a big Thor fan and he said there were "no excuses" for the defeat, other than any uncertainty over the canon status of the issue (though apparently there is nothing to directly imply it isn't canon). Not sure how I feel about this in the grander scheme of things but I am definitely going to enjoy rubbing some faces in it in the mean-time Cheers.

Steve Kurth is a fucking awful artist. Fuck you, Steve Kurth, get the fuck off of Hitch's dick and learn some storytelling basics.
Anyway, that's fucking awful. Is this in continuity? Can anyone explain the context of the scene/battle in unbroken english? Jon?

The context is that Thor got his ass handed to him until his face looked like hamburger. The end.

I haven't seen it yet. All I have seen is the preview pages and this scan that LGU posted. The art is very poor. And it's so... boring. If you want to sell Thor being beaten down so quickly, the reader better be feeling the attacks.

Under the context of the comic I consider Hulk's use of the hammer (in this case) fully justified, so I take back my earlier comments. From the report I had the impression Hulk had lifetd the hammer of his own accord.
The fight however, is probably the greatest disrespect to Thor that Marvel have ever perpetrated.

Yeah too bad the art is so shitty. Thor getting his ass beat this bad deserves a good artist like McGuinness doing the artwork.

The guy epitomizes what is wrong with a lot of the up and coming artists these days. They see Hitch's work, and so they copy that aesthetic without ever paying attention to page design, shot perspective, character 'acting', etc. I was reading some old Howard Porter JLA issues, and in particular I realized how much more exciting he made every shot simply from the perspective he took. Also, that Hammer looks like a fucking lollipop.

More from ArtTeacher:
"I’m sure you’re wondering about the “Yeah, right…” text box at the end of the fight. To put it into context, before the fight is shown, Banner is in a diner. A stranger keeps asking for his autograph, insisting that he’s the Hulk. Banner denies. The stranger persists in asking for an autograph. Banner agrees to sign it if the guy will leave him alone. Right before the fight, the stranger tells Banner, via a text box beside Thor, that reads, “I definitely won’t be bothering you again,” to which Banner replies, “Yeah, right…” via a text box right after the fight (as seen in the scan)."
Cheers.

Thanks. For once, I may have to agree with the cries of foul coming from the Thor fans. I don't sympathize with them over JLA/Avengers and Siege #1... but this seems to be pretty bad. From the sound of it, the fight only lasts a couple of pages and we see all of it.

Hahaha. Thor's rivalries with Hulk and Superman are now definitively decided and over. Sentry is all but confirmed as handing him his ass in a week or two. Hercules was established as Thor's superior in hth without his hammer. Gladiator proved himself superior in the last Thor run.
Surfer better be next. We came close with Beta Ray Bill getting stomped, but I think it's time for Surfer and Thor to face off and close the door on Thor's questionable elite top tier status once and for all. The guy belongs in Wonder Woman's class of top tier, not with the top big boys. I am gonna give Raven so much shit about this.
