Which is raw - Ares was an Avenger for as long as Sentry was. They were the only two Mighty Avengers that stayed with the team when Osborn took it over, IIRC. Sentry fought alongside Ares longer than he did Osborn - and he tore him in half without batting an eyelid.

That is how you turn someone into a villain. I have to say, first DA #13 and now Siege #2 - Bendis did this right.

How Ares performs does not in anyway reflect onto how Thor would perform. Thor has always trashed Ares. Heck, a weakened Thor (During his Hela's curse phase.) one shot Ares during the Avengers in Olympus arc.

I really am liking current Ares; shame he had to die. The only problem I have with him, is how it seems his utter hatred of Thor and through him to Asgard, is being completely ignored. I mean, it was not even addressed. Ares hates Thor, practically as much as he hates Hercules. They weren't on such bad relations during the Dark Gods saga (Ares did try to kill Thor a few times, but he does that whenever they meet.). They really should address this. But it's Bendis, so whatever. I'd just like a few pages or two addressing how they reconciled. Ares did seem to change for the better after he had his son. His definitely more hero like. He was still a blood thirsty monster, but during Dark Reign, he has been portrayed as a hero. Probably to counter act the Dark Avengers themselves.

God, I hope Thor pounds Sentry into the ground.
