I don't think he was bracing himself, it was just an odd drawing.  If anything he's lightly touching his own arm ... while trying to stand and catch a punch.  It probably made it harder to stop that punch.

This is exactly what was shown. Hercules was trying to stand, after being tackled down to the ground by the Sentry and Venom, and caught the Sentry's punch. If he was pushed back by the punch, he wouldn't have the Sentry's fist in his hand, would he? Something the spawn of Satan known as awisemansays does his best to avoid.

Hercules is stronger than the Sentry. Fact.

Ehi dude, did you forget to talk about our mothers ? Your sublime ignorance and stupidity does not permit you to understand that Awisemansays is another Hulkest alias just as me.

Oh god, you're absolutely right. Thanks ever so much for the reminder.

Your bitch of a mother is a whore and I'm going to rape her for a week straight.

Thanks again chum.

And you are just a retard. I have a mch better job than you could ever have, and a much better qualification than you could possess.

Hercules is stronger than Sentry, as the scans prove.

Didn't seem that Sentry thought Herc was much of challenge imo. He did get partially serious towards the end, but I don't think it was anywhere near full potential. Seems like Sentry was taking Herc for granted and Herc took advantage of it, but then again it didn't really seem like Sentry was fighting.

I can't believe someone, aside the useless Dr.Light, really thinks that this can be considered as Hercules win. It's obviously dictated by the huge hatred toward Sentry. The Hulk and Sentry are the two most powerful character of the marvel universe and this makes crazy the fans of other characters. Thor is not even on the podium.

Yeah Herc seemed to just toy around with him.   He also didn't go all out but neither did Sentry.  Herc gets the advantage in this showing.

Herc looked better, obviously, but it's not a "win" and it's not some example of superior strength.  He just made him look like a stupid goof-ball.

Exactly, all of this back and forth on whether  Sentry went all out, when its obvious Herc wasn't giving it his all either.

See I would say the exact opposite of that. I think Herc 'won' this encounter without showing that he had an advantage over sentry.

It's definitely a win, but Sentry seemed like he was taking Herc as a joke, and it sounded like Herc knew he couldn't really beat him at full power. That was just my impression. Herc's battle savyness got him the win here.

It look like Herc was goading him to go all out or fight better/harder.  So I don't think it implied he couldn't take him, Herc wanted to see if he could IMO. I don't think Sentry was taking Herc as a Joke.  He just doesn't want to unleash all that energy around him or risk Void probably.  And since he can't Herc was just playing around with him due to experience.

IMO there probably equals in physical strength.  But overall power Sentry is greater with Hercules being the better in hand to hand combat.

I only count it as a win if Herc was to KO Sentry but he didn't.  So advantage seems more right IMO.

I don't think there equals in strength, though they are likely moderately close. It was pretty apparent Sentry wasn't taking it too serious, until the end, but even then I wouldn't say he was going all out. Herc seemed to be trying a bit harder, but thats just my impression.

I think, in the end what we saw could be a technical win for Herc. Kinda like Sugar Ray vs. Haggler. He out pointed him, but did no damage. I think in terms of deciding who would win an all out battle, this fight is a stalemate, or contributes very little. I think it's important for "in character" fights, with stuff like Supes doesn't normally come in punching all out, or speed blitz, and he will take a few shots from the other guy a lot of times, maybe costing him the fight. Sentry is not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to fighting super powered individuals, and maybe that is an edge that some top tiers can exploit.

Herc is not stronger than Sentry, definitely not based on that fight.

How can you call that a win?  What if I came up to you, slapped you in the face, open-palm, and then ripped your shirt off your hot, tanned, greekly-oiled body and then ran away?

Did I win that fight, or just kinda fuck around with you a bit?

Hercules would never admit Sentry is more powerful than he is. Ever. Like Saotome said, Herc was probably goading Sntry to fully unleash because he wanted to fight Sentry at his best. Hercules loves to fight. Why would he not want to fight the best Sentry had to give, win or lose? And a holding back Sentry is not much of a threat to Herc anyway, as the scans show.

And then you ran away after you did that?

I'd say it's a tie at best in that case and you are lucky that you ran away at the coaxing of a small asian boy because I'd hold you down and put my weinier in your butthole for pulling that shit.

That's because Sentry was treating him as a joke. I mean, I love Hercules and all, I think you know why, but he's just not going to beat a Sentry that is really trying.

Wait, in the third scan, Ares talks about "not playing with girlish things like strategy and tactics." But wasn't he debuted in Mighty Avengers as something of a strategist?

It's not really a win, per say, it's just like a tactical thing. I agree with your interpretation.

And in Dark Avengers as well. Ares com[plains about Osborn's lack of tactics, but hey what can you do.

He took it less seriously in the beginning of the fight, being all pompous and probably thinking Herc would shit himself in his presence, but when that didn't happen, Sentry got more serious. Saying "This has been fun but now it's over." is not the speech of someone who thinks it is a joke. It was like Sentry admitting he had underestimated Herc, he wasn't going to do it again and was going to end the fight. The shockwaves from the caught punch and Herc and Sentry grimacing shows that Sentry was putting effort into it by the end. Not ALL OUT effort, but he was definitely taking it seriously. In fact, so seriously that the next step in Sentry's mind was going all out, which he threatened to do.

I took it to mean "it's over now, because I'm going to punch you"

Not necessarily "I'm going to punch you so fucking hard!  I mean it!"

It's like I got a 12 year old kid being a brat, not getting into my pedo van.  I'm standing there warning him and he's calling me names, kicking me in the shins, giving me a wedgie, making me look like an asshole.

So I'm like "fuck you kid, you brought this on yourself" and then I punch him.  Not hard.  But not weak.  Just a simple smack and I assume that with him being 12 he will curl up in a ball.

The thing is, I underestimated the kid, and he catches my punch, kicks me in the nuts, and then runs away giggling with his asian boyfreind and thier dog.  I stand up angrily and get ready to fuck some shit up but it's too late ... they ran away like cowardly children, afraid of a little sodomy.  I mean the kid was doing what he could to survive, but we both know that if he didn't run away he was gonna end up in that fucking rape van, what with my grown man strength and hairy man-chest.

That's the most accurate analogy ever.

No it was more like this:

Sentry: After being owned repeatedly, I will unleash the power 999,999 exploding suns on Hercules.

Sentry: It was fun, but now it's over!

*Hercules catches Sentry's punch. Sentry starts to strain so hard he poops in his pants a little*

Sentry: (thinking) Holy sweet baby Jesus, this masculine Greek demigod is tough! But I have one last exploding sun to pull out!

Sentry: (trying to ignore the small amount of poop in his pants) Don't make me release the power of a million exploding suns on you!

*Hercules kicks him in the nuts. And then forces him to 69 with Venom*

*Sentry is on the ground dazed, but he lingers on Venom just a little too long. He looks over and sees Hercules leaping away.*

Sentry: I should be mad, but how can I stay mad at an ass like that.

I still want Hitch, Pagulayan or JRjr on Hulk though.
