He didn't follow up on BB he just stood there like Ichigo and BB recovered on his own when he pulled out his gun. The final strike is the only thing debatable and they didn't come to his aid he just yelled get him and it was over. I don't think it would've mattered if only BB shot him considering WB said himself he lost to BB not his crew. Is Oda that lazy to add in his crew if it were so?

No, but as captain, it was Teach who ordered them to attack and set everything up to begin with.

And there's really nothing debatable about thinking BB's gun alone would have done the deed.  It was the combined force of that attack that put him down.

Marco was doing better then anyone there including WB it's just shitty writing that Marco didn't come in when it was obvious WB was gonna die.

BB orchestrated the whole thing, so in that respect he beat him.  It was not BB's power or gun that finished WB, it was a combination of hundreds of attacks.

Black Beard later joined the the attack on Impel Down and broke out the worst prisoners in existence and they are now part of his crew.  While BB hasn't technically attacked Marine HQ, he did go there and inform them he made fools of them all and is resigning from the Schichibukai.  It's also pretty obvious that BB is more powerful than Luffy at the moment and Luffy's crew was nowhere to be seen during this attack, so that may affect things as well.

I dunno about him becoming a Yonkou.  I mean, he and presumably the rest of his crew, are all powerful individuals and they may even be the single most powerful vessel (outside of the Marines or one of the other Yonkou and such putting together a "best of the best" ship) on the waters today...but don't Yonkou need entire fleets?  I mean, one ship is still one ship.  You can only cover so much area and you can be fucked if your ship is sunk.

Blackbeard covers up Whitebeard's corpse in his darkness. After he releases him, it's revealed that he somehow stole the legendary pirate's Gura Gura fruit ability! He then tells the marines that he'll give them a great show, and immobilizes them with his darkness. He then uses his newly stolen power to further mess up the marine HQ. The marines are confused as to how Blackbeard is able to use Whitebeard's power. Marco assumes that it became possible for Blackbeard to possess two powers because he already had such an unusual fruit to begin with.....


-Akainu is revealed to have recovered from Whitebeard's assault. He climbs out of the fissure towards Jinbei, and tells the former Shichibukai one last time to leave behind Luffy. Jinbei says he'll protect the rookie with his life. Iva appears soon afterward, and proceeds to blast away the admiral with a Death Wink (lol ). Buggy is also shown running away crying because he was robbed of the opportunity to take Whitebeard's head for himself, but also admits that he was too scared of the old man to actually commit the deed (again, lol ). It also seems that Aokiji froze the sea to prevent the pirates from escaping......



-Now that he has the powers of both the Yami Yami and Gura Gura fruits, Blackbeard considers himself to be invincible. He then declares war on the World Government, and says that the new age belongs to HIM, now......

Nothing wrong with this chapter at all.  Any shortcomings that Teach had are pretty much gone.  We'll also get to see all kinds of new uses for White Beard's powers since Oda is the fucking master of fleshing out powers.

Black Beard becomes even more formidable...I wonder if we'll see an arc dedicated to him and his crew now that his plans have come to fruition.  We know almost nothing about the actual levels of his crew outside of BB himself and we have an idea about Shiriyuu.

Wonder if Buggy will escape.

I'm also surprised we haven't seen Dragon, at this point I don't think he's coming.

I'm really surprised the admirals are focusing so heavily on the White Beard Pirates and Co and almost completely ignoring Black Beard who is the greater threat and just spat on them and played them for fools.  I'm guessing the pirates will escape via whatever escape route he opens combining both his powers.
