Yes. Personally, I still think it's the scariest movie ever. EVER! Lost Boys is a freaking classic. Aliens was good. I loved 28 Days Later. Zombies hauling ass are cool.

yeah Jaws is pretty scary when you think about it
when i was in Myrtle Beach boogey boarding, even though i KNEW there's no great white lurking around in the surf, there's that little part of your mind way in the back that kinda makes you look twice at the water you're in

Probably would be best to divide this into genres, as others have.
But overall, I think I would have to go with...

Slasher: Halloween, with Psycho II right behind it
Vampire: Lost Boys
Werewolf: The Wolfman
Zombie: either Dawn of the Dead or Zombi 3
Monster Mash: Frankenstein Meets the Wolfman edges out Freddy vs Jason and the Monster Squad ever so slightly
Mind Fuck: In the Mouth of Madness
Ghost: House on Haunted Hill (1999)
Alien: eh....i consider Predator a horror movie

just remembered one i found in a bargain bin last year. was like three bucks, so i bought it thinkin what the hell? turned out to be totally worth my while
was a Fangoria original called The Last Horror Movie
the movie starts off pretty standard, a masked killer having escaped from a sanitarium and he sneaks up behind a lady in a diner to kill her....
then there's a bunch of static on the screen, before it resumes to home video of an English guy sitting there
he introduces himself to the viewer and admits that he taped over the copy of the movie you're watching and notes that its really not that great a movie anyway, and then asks if you want to see something really scary
he's edited his own little documentary onto the 'tape' showing his day to day activities, his friends and family, and him randonly killing people (even sneaks up on a cop and smacks him in the head with a brick)
He's a wedding photographer and has always been sort of a slacker, pretty aimless in life but all that changed when he saved a guy's life
said guy had been trying to commit suicide by drowning and he saved him and they struck up a friendship. eventually though, the guy kept bitching and moaning about how he wished he was dead, so one day our narrator just shoves him off the top of a 30 story building. it was a rush and he enjoyed it very much. so he started doing it to other people, even hiring a homeless guy to be his camera man as he killed people
he waxes the philosophical about how he could kill anyone he wanted, including his friends, at any time. even does 'interviews' with suicidal cases, pointing a gun to their heads and asking them if they really want to die (and they never do) and so on and so forth. gives neat little tips, such as disposing of bodies around 6 am because if anyone's up they'll be tired and won;t be sure of what they saw
at a wedding, a guy who's already cheating on his new bride beats the shit out of his cameraman, and a few days later our narrator drags said adulterer to an underground area a few miles from anywhere and sets him aflame for the camera (the shots are really clever there and the dummy set aflame is really effective)
"The best part about being a psychopath is you don't have to take shit from anyone"
then he goes into a big tirade about how the people watching all this are no doubt aghast about all the things they've seen and how they'd label him sick
"Well, here's a question....if i'm so sick....why are YOU still watching?"
just a good indie horror movie

Last Horror Movie was great but it pisses me off because I had an idea for similar reality horror movie where a killer hires a bunch of actors who thinks they are on some haunted reality show. The movie would cut back fourth between confession room moments, the killer mocking the person, and then the person being killed. I wanted it to end with the same why are you still watching this moment.

the thing that got me about the Last Horror Movie was how he was killing people who had rented it
up until then i thought the movie was excellent, but once that started happening it kinda stretched the believability too much for me

I agree with Oats, Boogeyman was actually a good flick for a bit, but then he started teleporting and the bad cgi and it ruined the movie. Lommel's Boogeyman was worse though, but not exactly bad.

I love watching newly released horror/thriller flicks almost every week. I download pretty much all the major new ones or even though no one has heard about like "The Cellur Door" or "Broken". Some really crazy ass shit. And in "Baby Blues", that lady just went fucking NUTS and tried to kill of her toddler kids.

Discounting kids horror that I still like.
Halloween 1, 4 (but really I love the series, more so 1-6). Friday the 13th (also love the series, but more so 1-9). Frailty. The Exorcist. Carnival of Souls. Incubus (the Shatner one). Session 9. Return of the Living Dead. The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Vampyr, Dracula (Lugosi). Near Dark. The Last Broadcast. Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight. Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer. Aliens (semi-horror). Assault on Precint 13 (semi horror). The Blair Witch Project+Curse of the Blair Witch (best watched together). Black Sunday. Horror Hotel. Donnie Darko (semi-horror). Deliverance (semi-horror). The Fog. The Evil Dead. Ghostbusters (semi-horror). In the Mouth of Madness. It's Alive. Jaws. Seance. Charisma (semi horror). Manhuner. M (semi-horror). Paperhouse. The Ring. Phantasm. Picnic at Hanging Rock. Poltergeist. Prince of Darkness. Dead End. The Prophecy. Salem's Lot (the original). The Girl Who Knew Too Much. Suspiria. The Thing. The Woman in Black. Kill Baby Kill. Pumpkinhead. Night of the Living Dead (original and remake). Blue Velvet. Demons. Alone in the Dark (the 80's movie, not the Boll one). Don't Be Afraid of the Dark. Duel. Silence of the Lambs. Ravenous. Ginger Snaps. Something Wicked This Way Comes. The Whip and the Body. Deep Red. House by the Cemetery. I used to LOVE The House on Haunted Hill 1999 but it hasn't worked for me lately, but sometimes I get that way with films.
I'm forgetting a bunch of them as well. If you can include segments of anthologies Drops of Water from Black Sabbath would be here as well.

oh damn Bungle, i forgot about Frailty, Ginger Snaps (and the first sequel) and Prince of Darkness. i loved those two.
Prince of Darkness in particular. it was the last movie that really scared me, not so much for what went on, but the fact that it made me even momentarily think that what i believe could be completely wrong. that's a DAMN scary thought
but House by the Cemetary? lol i can't watch that one with a straight face just for that little kid yammering on about May all the time
oh here's one i like: 2001 Maniacs. for many reasons....the gore.....Robert Englund as Mayor Buckman.....Peaches and the two incestuous chicks........ *pauses a bit too long*.......those two bandoleers who followed the black guy around and sang about his dead girlfriend....and that awesome heavy metal "The South's gonna rise again" song
